Training in geoengineering and quarrying is oriented towards and combined with the development of teamwork and leadership skills, so that the graduates are professionally qualified to manage a variety of economic activities. The graduates of the second-cycle studies acquire a thorough, broadened knowledge of issues related to raw materials extraction, geology, possibly engineering machines and industrial robotics (depending on the chosen diploma path). He/she acquires this knowledge through the study of a wide range of specialized technical subjects, as well as economic and social ones. He/she also acquires practical knowledge during the diploma practice.
A graduate of the second-degree studies is prepared to solve complex engineering problems using advanced numerical modelling and computer methods. They can apply for managerial positions in many sectors of the economy, in public administration as well as in scientific and research units. Graduates may also undertake research work as part of a doctoral school, the completion of which allows them to obtain the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
